5 IMMUNE BOOSTING FOODS THAT YOU MUST ADD TO YOUR DIET
Boost boost boost…for real though
You are probably hearing this everywhere.
Make sure to boost your immune system!
I wanted to share with you 5 Immune Boosting Foods that I am currently including in my diet daily right now.
With so many things out of our control at this time, it is important to focus on what we can control.
The food that we put into our body is one of the things that we do have control over.
So, why not fuel your body with a few essential boosters that will help your immune system?
HERE ARE MY TOP 5:
1. CITRUS FRUITS
Lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruits, clementines, etc.
These are all are good sources of vitamin C which our bodies need daily.
I have been adding lemon to just about everything and enjoying half a grapefruit or an orange each afternoon as a snack.
This veggie is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C
I have been making sure to include this in my green drink every morning, and if not...I eat it as a side salad sprinkled lightly with olive oil, lemon and salt.
The key is to eat spinach raw…so try to avoid cooking it, this helps to maintain all the nutrients it holds.
Packed full of vitamins and minerals
Eat this as a side dish or as an afternoon snack.
Just like spinach…not cooking this veggie is key.
The less broccoli is cooked…the more powerful nutrients that stay in it.
Anti-inflammatory, ginger helps to decrease inflammation and is also a strong antioxidant.
Ginger is one of the items that I throw into my green drink each morning.
Try blending it into something like a smoothy, or make a tea with it.
This is full of antioxidant immune boosting goodness.
Garlic is a great way to add some spice to any dish as well as boost your immune system.
Add it to a soup, roasted veggies, or your main dish.
I love spreading a little garlic on top of my roasted fish for some extra flavor.
As I mentioned before, with so much uncertainty going on around us it is important to focus on what you can control.
For me…making sure that I am fueling my body with the proper nutrients has been a helpful way for me to take control over the things that I know I do have control of.
I hope that you will join me in adding these immune boosting foods to your diet as we move through this challenging time together.
