How To Be More Productive

I don’t know about you - but I am always looking for ways to become more productive.

We all have things that we have to get done that we don’t necessarily enjoy doing all the time.

The to-do lists can grow and time can seem limited...

That’s why I find it super valuable to do what I can to consistently become more productive.

When you are productive you are able to accomplish more - getting more done in a shorter period of time.

That means that the more productive you are - the more time you will have to do the things that you enjoy!

I wanted to share with you 5 tips that I use that help me to increase my productivity on a daily basis - so that i have more time to spend doing what I love.

# 1 FOCUS ON THE MOST IMPORTANT TASK FIRST

You know the task that i am talking about - sometimes it’s the one that just sits there…staring you in the face that you know you need to do but you just really don’t want to do it.

Slay that dragon first! Get it out of the way in the very beginning and then move on.

#2 BREAK DOWN YOUR BIG TASKS INTO SMALLER TASKS

Trust me on this. I used to have a long list of major tasks that needed to get done and then I wouldn’t end up completing any of them because the task was so big and daunting. By breaking down each task into smaller more manageable tasks - it is much easier to accomplish every item without feeling overwhelmed,

#3 DO NOT MULTI-TASK...say it again - DO NOT MULTI-TASK

I used to think that because I could multi-task… it meant that I was super productive - not necessarily! Multi-tasking will keep you busy but it doesn’t mean that you will be accomplishing more in a shorter period of time. Pick one task to get done and complete it before moving on to the next item.

#4 TAKE SCHEDULED BREAKS


Whether it is every hour (which is what I prefer) or every 2 hours - get up and drink water and move around…when you schedule breaks for yourself, you are giving yourself permission to refuel and you are right on schedule with what you are supposed to be doing. I have found that when I take frequent short breaks throughout the day - I am much more focused and energized and able to be more effective at getting things done.

#5 CELEBRATE YOUR WINS

The to-do list can be really long sometimes…and we can often feel so far away from where we want to be that we forget to look at how far we have come. At the end of every day - take a moment to recognize all that you have accomplished and be proud of yourself for how far you have come.

These are 5 tips that I have implemented that continue to help me on a daily basis to be more productive.
