WHY YOU SHOULD FOCUS ON SELF-LOVE WHEN STARTING A FITNESS PLAN
Many people will go into a fitness plan or diet plan because they do not like where they are at...
They are unhappy with their weight, or the way that they feel and a lot of times they may even hate certain parts about themselves…be it your arms, your belly, your butt, your legs…ladies you know we could go on and on here.
I have done it too…
Standing in front of the mirror…wishing that I had slimmer thighs or feeling so bloated, or thinking ugh…why are my jeans fitting so tight today...
We are our own worst critic.
I am going to tell you right now, that one of the worst reasons to start any sort of healthy lifestyle program…be it fitness or diet…is out of dislike or hate for yourself.
That being said...I am not saying that using your frustrations, whether that is your weight, your energy, or how your clothes fit, is not good motivation to start a fitness plan, diet plan, and make healthy lifestyle changes.
But, I am saying do not start a healthy lifestyle program or change out of dislike or hate for yourself.
Start a healthy lifestyle program, whether that's through diet and/or exercise out of self-love.
What do I mean by that?
I mean…choose to eat healthy foods because you love your body and you care about yourself and your well being so much, that you want to fuel it with proper nutrition.
I mean…move your body because you love your body and you know that working out is a type of self-love.
That moving your body creates healthy benefits for you.
Don’t use diet and exercise as punishment.
Don’t starve yourself out of guilt for eating cake or pizza or whatever it is.
Choose to eat healthy out of love, not because you hate your thighs.
Choose to exercise out of love, not because you hate your belly.
Do you see where I am going with this?
If you do not choose to love yourself and have the right mindset throughout your health and fitness journey...
I’m telling you right now…it will be a strenuous one.
Choosing to accept yourself as you are…choosing to love yourself as you are, and choosing to care about yourself enough to take the necessary steps to create a healthy lifestyle for yourself, is going to make your health and fitness journey that much more enjoyable.
And...on top of that, you are going to be more likely to follow through with it.
Because when we do things out of love and because we feel good about what we are doing…we are more likely to continue to take those actions.
Be patient with yourself and be kind with yourself.
Stay focused on loving you and taking actions towards your goals out of love for yourself each step of the way.
You deserve to live your healthy lifestyle!
